• Are international flights included in this trip?

  No, international flights are generally not included in the price of your tour. On some combo tours travelling between two different countries, international flights are included as part of the itinerary and price of the tour. Please speak to your GCO or booking agent for further details.

• Are there any health considerations I should know before travelling?

  Inoculations may be required for the country visited. It is your responsibility to consult with your travel doctor for up to date medical travel information well before departure. • How large will the group be?

  The maximum group size is 16 travellers, with an average of 12.

• How much emergency money should I bring on this trip?

  Please make sure you have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an 'emergency' fund, to be used when circumstances outside our control (ex. a natural disaster) require a change to our planned route.

• How old must I be to join this trip?

  You must be 18 to travel unaccompanied on a the tour operator tour. For minors travelling with a guardian over 21 years old, the minimum age is 12.

• How should I dress to respect local customs during the tour?

  You should dress modestly; loose, lightweight, long clothing is practical, and you shouldn't wear short shorts or skirts. Outside of capital cities and the more touristic centres, local dress is often more conservative, and as a matter of respect we ask that both men and women are aware of this and recommend loose-fitting clothes with your shoulders covered.

• Is there an extra cost for travelling solo?

  Our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement for solo travellers. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip.

• Is travel insurance required for my trip?

  Travel insurance is compulsory. You will not be permitted to join the group until evidence of travel insurance has been sighted by your leader. Minimum coverage of USD200,000 for medical expenses including emergency evacuation and repatriation is required.

• Should I be tipping on my trip?

  Tipping is expected as an expression of satisfaction. Recommendations for tipping local guides range from €3-5 per person per day. For your CEO, a guideline of €6-8 per person, per day can be used.

• What activities are optional on this trip?

  In Yerevan, you can opt to visit the Yerevan Brandy Factory (approx. 10USD per person) or the Megerian Carpet Museum.

• What are the main highlights of this trip?

  The main highlights include setting eyes on the stunning Caucasus Mountains, touring ancient monasteries, strolling narrow streets in Tbilisi, and savouring under-the-radar delicious food and wine in Georgia.

• What transportation will we use on this trip?

  This itinerary utilizes private van transport for all included activities and travel between destinations, along with walking tours.

• What do I need to know about safety and security on my trip?

  We recommend checking your government's travel advice, using a neck wallet/money belt for valuables, and leaving valuable jewelry at home. Hotels often have safety deposit boxes. Your CEO can amend the itinerary for safety concerns. During free time, use good judgment for optional activities. In cities at night, stay in small groups and use taxis. Avoid protests and demonstrations.

• What is Planeterra?

  Planeterra International Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps local communities earn income from tourism by developing and supporting small community-owned businesses, which in turn support Indigenous people, empower women, provide youth employment, and protect the environment. The tour operator covers all operating costs, so 100% of donations go directly to Planeterra projects.

• What kind of accommodation can I expect on this trip?

  You can expect to stay in standard hotels (7 nights), typically small, family-run hotels or pensions, which may vary in standard and facilities (e.g., no elevators, no air-conditioning, limited English-speaking staff). They are usually locally-run, with traditional character, and in excellent central locations.

• What meals are included in this trip?

  The trip includes 7 breakfasts and 3 lunches.

• What rules should I know before joining this trip?

  Illegal drugs will not be tolerated, and possessing or using them is against the law and puts the group at risk. Exploitation of people in the sex trade is also not tolerated. CEOs have the right to expel any group member violating these rules.

• What should I know about currency, credit cards, and exchanging money while on this tour?

  The currency in Armenia is the Armenian Dram (ARD) and in Georgia is the Georgian Lari (GEL). ATMs are available in main cities and accept Visa and Mastercard. Carrying both is a good idea. Cash is recommended for inaccessible ATM areas; Euros, British Pounds, and US Dollars are easily exchanged. Ensure US Dollar notes are new and in good condition (post-1996).

• What should LGBTQ+ travellers know about safety and travel considerations on this trip?

• When can I do my laundry on this trip?

  Laundry facilities are offered by some of our hotels for a charge. There will be times when you may want to or have to do your own laundry so we suggest you bring non-polluting/biodegradable soap.

  A CEO (Chief Experience Officer) will be with you throughout the tour, along with local guides for specific areas.

• Will I get my own room?

  Please note that if you have booked the "My Own Room" option for this tour, you will receive your own single room for all night stops.
